Latvian champions FK Ventspils is playing brilliant this season. Already qualified for Latvian National Cup final and remaining on 1^st place in LMT Virsliga, FK Venspils with its maximalist coach Romans Grigorchuks is looking forward to at least repeat TrioBet Baltic League 2007 result (loosing in finals) this year. Not playing with first eleven in all the games, Ventspils team still got a first place in their group overcoming Zalgiris on goal difference.

FK Suduva qualified for play offs only in their last group game against Levadia in Tallinn (draw 1:1). Doing a lot better in Lithuanian A League (winning last 4 games and being on first position) Suduva players are traveling to Ventspils in good mood, hoping to at least do not loose, but maybe even secure it’s place in semis in first ¼ final game on Wednesday. For Suduva it is first season in TrioBet League and they definitely hope to show that not only Ekranas and Kaunas can do well in International competitions.

According to TrioBet Baltic League 2008 regulations first leg of ¼ finals should be played in Marijampole, but due to Lithuanian Athletics championship, Suduva stadium is not free at the moment, that is why it was decided to move first game to Ventspils (with clubs approval).
